We also identify other human solid tumors with novel activating point muta-tions in the NOTCH1 NRR, including a subset of adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) cell lines and primary tumors. Like NOTCH1 -rearranged breast cancers, xenografted NOTCH1- Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a rare type of breast cancer. This tumour is morphologically identical to its counterpart in the salivary gland.
